Shane Dobbin, 30, Speed Skating
Introduction
Shane Dobbin was one of New Zealand’s top in-line skaters and is a four-time world champion in the sport. He switched to the ice just two years ago and is now taking on the world in an event known for its speed, power, endurance and agility. Shane is based in the Netherlands but classes Palmerston North as home. Shane puts his success down to his work ethic and never-give-up attitude. Vancouver will be Shane’s first Olympic Games and he is looking forward to the opportunity to show the world what he can do.
Shane says representing New Zealand at the Olympic Games means “the chance to show my level of commitment and focus on the worlds greatest stage.”
