About Vancouver 2010
12 – 26 February 2010 Extreme sports action, stunning mountain scenery, hip bars and clubs and a bustling downtown will greet visitors to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. For the New Zealand athletes who wear the silver fern in Canada this February the venues and facilities will be second to none. From Cypress Mountain to Whistler and the downtown ice-rinks, the spirit of the Olympic Games and the caliber of competition will inspire our athletes to excel. Our team will take on around 3,000 athletes from more than 70 countries. The Olympic Winter Games began in 1924 and the today they feature fifteen of the world’s fastest and most extreme sports. Our young athletes compete in eight of those sports and will be going fast and going hard to make New Zealanders proud at Vancouver 2010.
